New Update on “Dave” :-)
Just got back from the vets with Dave he’s had his IV catheter out and his 2nd bloods have come back, white cells are raised which could mean underlying infection but everything else normal, so to be on the safe side he’s had a long lasting antibiotic and wormed as there was a suggestion in the results although I don’t know why, he seems a lot calmer, still a little wobbly and meowing but 100% improvement, he has to go back next Thursday for more bloods to look at his white blood cells, looks like he’s over the worst and that’s the main thing. When I got him home I sat with him in his pen for a while and he got on my lap and had a good fuss and tummy tickle and was purring away, now that’s the Dave we all know and love. Will keep you all posted 🙂
Update on our special boy “Dave” :-(
Update on “Our Special Boy Dave” Dave is not very well, bless him, I went to give him his medicine at 8pm as usual last night and he was just coming out of a fit (he had not had one since February) he was in a bit of a state so left him to come completely out of it before giving him his meds, I sorted the rest of the rescues out and went back to his pen “Daves Gaff” he was sitting up with very wide eyes and drooling a lot, as I went to go in he started to go into another fit, a very bad one and was thrashing around in his pen where as when he normally has a fit he lays on his side and just paddles, I knew this was a serious fit by the amount of saliva on the floor, I rang our out of hours vet to warn them I was on my way with Dave and through a towel over him to get him in the cat carrier, we arrived at approx 8.45pm, I held Dave while the vet gave him a rectal diazapan, he still did not come out of the fit, so approx 10 mins later he had another, still he was not right so he had to stay in the vets last night, this morning was a little better but still wide eyed and still salivating, he is back with me now but have to keep a close eye on him, he is booked in Monday at the vets for full bloods but if he has another fit in between he will have to go straight back, he certainly isn’t his normal self, Dave is more like a dog than a cat, a very laid back gentle little boy. I will keep everyone updated, the picture of Dave trying to climb the tree was the last time he went out on his harness and lead and the one on his side was when he was in full fit the other two were taken at the vets this morning. Come on Dave you can get right lovely boy 🙂
