2017 was a strange year for Sleapy Cat Rescue, there was a period in time that we were more like a hospital than a rescue/re-homing centre as everyone we had in was either on prescription diets or medication because unwell, this did effect our homing figures but we still managed to re-home 59 Cats and 59 Kittens. Lets hope 2018 is a little kinder 🙂 We managed to re-unite 9 owners with there pets due to microchips which was great 🙂
This is our gorgeous Dave he came into the rescue in February after
being abandoned at Bronnington in Whitchurch, he was 6mths to 1yr old,
he was soaking wet and had cat flu,
he then started having fits which is probably why he was abandoned and after many tests found blood and cyrstals in his urine, he is on medication to try and control his fits and now is on a prescription diet, Jenny and I discussed his case at great length and decided he was un-homeable so we are trying to raise money to build his own cat pen to save him taking up one of the rescue pens.
Dave is a lovely boy extremly friendly and loves a fuss, he is more like a dog than a cat, he loves the other cats in the pens next door and now goes for regular walks on a harness and lead around my garden much to the amazement of my own cats. Daves new home will be a lot bigger than his pen at the moment as it is to be his permanent home.
