WE WILL BE CLOSED FROM DECEMBER 14TH UNTIL 2ND JANUARY, WE WILL NOT BE TAKING IN OR RE-HOMING DURING THIS TIME, PLEASE CONTACT US ON 2ND JANUARY IF YOU ARE INTERESTED IN ONE OF OUR GUESTS, HAPPY CHRISTMAS AND A HAPPY HEALTHY NEW YEAR 🙂
2017 was a strange year for Sleapy Cat Rescue, there was a period in time that we were more like a hospital than a rescue/re-homing centre as everyone we had in was either on prescription diets or medication because unwell, this did effect our homing figures but we still managed to re-home 59 Cats and 59 Kittens. Lets hope 2018 is a little kinder 🙂 We managed to re-unite 9 owners with there pets due to microchips which was great 🙂
This is Fifi who we homed 5 half months ago, a gorgeous girl of 11yrs weighing a good 5.3kg when we homed her.
Sadly this is Fifi now, she came into the vets where I work a week ago with chemical burns but we think it was creosote/wood treatment that the owner said was done 2 mths ago, she now weighs just 1.9kg and is a bag of bones, where she has tried to clean herself up she has ingested the substance and is unable to put her tongue in her mouth and is drooling all the time, her mouth was red raw and we bathed her and a lot of her fur just fell off leaving very red skin underneath, she has been on liquid food to help build her up and she has come in with me at the shelter today 21/1/14 we still do not know if she will make it, she has been on antibiotics, steriods and eye cream as when she came in she had puss coming out of one eye, needless to say we took the cat off of the owner due to her condition and dramatic weight loss which to lose that amount in such a short space of time is cruelty in it’s self. We are hoping with a bit of one to one and lots of TLC she will start to put weight back on.
Fifi in her heated igloo at the shelter, we are tempting her with the best food and pray she will survive, if you would like to help with her vet fee’s we would be very grateful, please use the donate button. Watch this space, bless her she must of been in this state for sometime 🙁
